Acushla is a registered counsellor and a dual-certified EAGALA-trained equine therapist.
She provides a warm and welcoming presence to both equine-assisted and classical counselling sessions and is experienced in working with a diverse client base across a range of race, gender, age, sexuality, and cultural backgrounds.

Acushla practices in accordance with NZAC and EAGALA guidelines, undertakes regular cultural supervision to maintain safe and ethical practice, and is committed to ongoing professional development in both modalities. She is also a proud tangata Tiriti and responsible partner of te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Eugene Scott
Equine Specialist
Eugene is an EAGALA-trained Equine Specialist and horse herd owner for over twenty-five years with an interest in horse behaviour and herd dynamics. He works in Equine Nature alongside his life partner, Acushla, and their current group of four equine friends.
Eugene’s approach aligns with the EAGALA model in that clients already have the best solutions for themselves. His goal is to work with the intuitive horse dynamics to assist clients to acknowledge their vulnerabilities, build confidence, and find their own answers within.
His role in Equine Nature is to provide a physically, mentally, and ethically safe collaborative environment for both client and the herd. As a father of three adult children and over 20 years as a volunteer firefighter, Eugene brings empathy, care, teamwork, and respect to support clients on their therapeutic journey.
